Continuing the Clifton Colour Series
Using the Clifton Suspension Bridge as the motif, I have continued to work on the subject of bridging. Each painting is made using acrylic paint, and sometimes pencil on canvas or paper.
The mark making is made using a variety of tools including sponges and brushes. The marks are built up in layers and some can still be seen beneath the surface, like the palimpsest found on historic manuscripts.
