Painting in Progress

Work in progress in studio

I am currently working on a painting using acrylic paint on a piece of canvas -  120 x 150.  The canvas is stretched onto the wall and, when finished, it will be taken down and fixed to a stretcher.

Reference to fragmented architectural features, and the dynamic nature of the weir are being evidenced in this work.  It is a visual interpretation of the bridge that speaks not only of its function but of its essence through an emotional use of colour and mark making.

The following images show details of this painting and illustrate the way in which the paint is used to create both a sense of the architectural structure and the energy of the water.
